Don't Skip Desserts But Have Healthier Ones
If you are having a full course dinner, then you would surely have desserts at the end. Usually the desserts served are usually high in calories and can easily get you fat. It is unfortunate we are used to having rich desserts as we don't mind taking those extra unneeded calories. We even crave for more desserts even though unconsciously we know our body knows we don't need more of it.
Having a lot of fat in the body is unhealthy. Our body will grow to a large proportion. Then we risk having heart complications and high blood pressure. The list would just keep on going. Cancer possibilities and higher chance to get a stroke. If you want to live past 60, then I suggest you make a change in your diet with low fat dessert recipes.
Rather than refraining ourselves from eating desserts, we should find ways to make desserts more healthy. Making a low fat dessert from low fat dessert recipes is one of the way to do it. You don't need to worry about getting too much calories when you eat from low fat dessert recipes and can keep eating them without worries of getting fat.
Low Fat Dessert Recipes: Poached Pears with Raspberry Sauce
Ingredients
1/2 a lemon
2 medium ripe pears
1 and 1/2 cups of fresh raspberries (keep some spare for the garnish)
1 tablespoon of black currant-flavor or orange-flavor liqueur
1/3 cup of confectioners' sugar
2 teaspoons of sugar
Some mint sprigs for garnish
That is all you need to make this cake from the low fat dessert recipes.
First what you would want to do is to prepare the pears. Take a knife and remove the cores from the bottom of the pears. Then peel off the skin of the pear but do not cut away the stem of the pear. It will be used as a decoration later. After you peeled the pears, take the half lemon and rub it around the pears. Then sprinkle sugar around the pears.
After that, take out a plate that is oven friendly and lay down the pears on the play. Make the pears lying down in a way that the stems are pointing towards the center. After that pour 2 tablespoons of water into the plate. Do not cover the plate as you put in the oven. Set the oven to cook at HIGH for 5 to 6 minutes. Keep an eye on the pears. When it starts to become tender, turn the pears over half way and continue to cook it. After it is cooked both side, transfer the pears with the stem ends up to your serving plate and let it cool off. You are halfway done with this cake from the low fat dessert recipes.
While the pears are cooling, take the raspberries and blend them until they become a puree. Then sift the confectioner's sugar into a bowl. Then also shift the raspberries puree so you can separate out the seeds. Then gently mix the sugar and puree until it is properly mixed.
When the poached pears are ready to be served, pour a spoon full of raspberries sauce over it. Then take the mint sprigs and unused raspberries and decorate it.
