Arunachal Pradesh the Land of Rising Sun is not only renowned for its natural beauty but also for his beautiful handicrafts. Handicrafts of Arunachal Pradesh showcase rich cultural tradition of artistic craftsmanship of this state. A wide variety of Arunachal Pradesh Handicrafts comprises of weaving, pottery, woodcarving, basketry and many more.

Weaving
This is one of the popular handicrafts of this state which are practiced by women in a large number. In this art artist weaves colorful and graceful dress materials using the fine combination of colorful threads and fabrics. Red, purple, blue, green and yellow are some of the popular colors that are widely used while weaving clothes. Earlier natural dyes were used but now synthetic ones are also used. The 20 major tribes and more then 100 sub-tribes has unique and appealing Handloom designs that make Arunachal Pradesh dress materials famous across the globe. Some of the most recognized apparels of this state are Apatani jackets and scarves, Mishmi shawls, Wancho bags and Sherdukpen shawls.
Cane and Bamboo Work
The geographical location of this state gifted this land with a vast expanse of bamboo forests which fulfills most of its domestic requirements of daily use. Tourists can see varieties of bamboo products which are used for daily work. The popular cane and bamboo products which are widely used are cane vessels, cane belts, bamboo mugs, baskets, hats, household goods like curtain, bed, mats and varieties of ornaments and jewelries. Cane and bamboo products of Arunachal Pradesh are known for their angular and curve designs which are different from other parts of Indian state. The two basic techniques which are used in this artwork are twill and hexagon both open and closed.
Carpet Making
This is another Arambol beach famous across the world for its color combinations, intricate weaving and beautiful design. Because of its popularity the domestic carpet making industry of Arunachal Pradesh emerged as acclaimed industry and major occupation catering the global demand. The most popular carpet is made by Monpas the Buddhist community renowned for its color combinations with exotic designs of dragons, geometric and floral patterns. Along with carpets other popular carpets based items are wall hanging, cushion pad, telephone pad, floor covering etc.
Handicrafts of Arunachal Pradesh are among the most popular occupations of the state which not only provides livelihoods to people but also helps them to preserve the heritage of their culture. Some of the other popular handicrafts of this state are Wood Carving, Ornaments, Painting, Pottery, Paper making, Smithy work and Ivory work.
