As a newly Licensed Esthetician I am overwhelmed with beauty options. Consumers are often faced with the same mind wrenching options. What products lines can you trust? What services would you get if you were offered one free service? Do you want to go to a traditional spa, a med spa, a holistic or "green" spa? Do you want the products and services to come to you? These are the questions swirling through the minds of many, so lets take a closer look.
Traditional brick and mortar spas are uniformed, relaxing, safe and comforting, while mobile services are extremely intimate, personalized to your needs and offered conveniently in your home or office. The newest trend in Spas and salons is the "green" spa, meaning they are environmentally conscious and striving to provide services and products that are not destructive to the environment but have the same great effectiveness as traditional products and services (More information is available at www.greenspanetwork.org).
I strongly believe that "green" spas with ayurvedic consciousness regarding their products and services are more beneficial to you as the client as well as the environment. These services encompass mind, body and spirit providing total wellness to the client and their surrounding environment. According to Wikipedia, in Sanskrit, the word Ayurveda consists of the words āyus, meaning ‘life', and veda, meaning ‘related to knowledge' or ‘science'. Ayurveda does not stop at beauty; it is a whole life encompassing practice. Bringing this knowledge to the practitioner and the client provides options to live a better quality of life.
As professionals our goal is to provide you top grade services for your beauty and wellness needs while giving you a greater understanding and control of your wellness regimen at home. According to Wikipedia, wellness is generally used to mean a healthy balance of the mind, body and spirit that results in an overall feeling of well-being. When you are stressed, having breakouts, or experiencing dehydrated or drier skin our job is to provide you a relaxing treatment and educate you on how to prevent these symptoms from occurring. When the products and treatment services are environmentally safe this brings another long overlooked solution to many of these symptoms. This means through our education of environmentally conscious habits that we put into practice and share with others we slowly create a greater understanding how we work with the world we live in. With this knowledge comes the power to make a difference. It was once said by an unknown source "one person cannot change everything, but every person can change one thing"!
By making a conscious decision to support environmentally conscious businesses or asking the businesses we frequent to make small changes over time as the consumer and the neighbor on this planet you take back one more piece of control to your well being.
