Convenient ways of displaying ID badges
With the arrival of more powerful, compact and affordable card printers to the corporate world, business owners and managers discovered the advantages of having full control of the card printing process. Making their own in house employee ID cards was easy, quite fun and, what is even more important, a time and money saving activity. They did not have to waste precious time discussing with badge designers which layout worked best for their organization and they did not have to spend time analyzing budgets from professional printing companies. But business owners and managers also realized that making their own ID cards also implied finding a convenient way in which their staff members could display them publicly in a comfortable manner.
Fortunately, the card printing industry is more than ready to face the challenge. There is an interesting variety of card holder options available in the market.
Construction workers, for instance, who cannot have their ID badges hanging from their necks or clipped to their uniforms because of safety reasons but that anyway need to be properly identified in the working site, can have their ID cards attached to their hard hats.
In corporate environments that are more informal, many employees opt for lanyards and carry their badges hanging from their necks. There is a wide variety of them. Some of them are made of rope or a thin chain. Others are made of cloth and have the company's name and logo printed on them, thus helping business owners and managers enhance their brand awareness. More fashionable employees can opt for beaded lanyards that are really attractive.
Those staff members that need to be in constant relation with the general public and that , therefore, need to display their identification card at all times usually opt for hard or soft plastic card holders. These can be clear or slightly tinted and they provide a very convenient way of having the badge pinned to the uniform or clothing. Hard plastic holders are mostly chosen by those employees who are provided with quality paper cards so that they can resist the daily tear and wear. These holders can be also clipped to the waist. Many business owners and managers prefer this kind of holders because, as they are available in different colors, they can be used to distinguish staff members according to the area where they work or the clearance level they have.
