HP Mini - Small price but massive quality
The HP Mini 2140 truely is a laptop that truely stands out of it's competitors. It has a low price and a remarkable quality.
To begin with, there is the keyboard. The Mini 2140 features a small keyboard, yet fully practical and contains keys with the appropriate size. Where most manufacturers chose for small button size, the HP Mini features comfort.
Next, there is the 10.1 inch screen, it can handle a resolution of up to 1024 x 576 pixels and for such a small laptop this leaves almost all competitors behind. It is bright and gives a unique touch.
Since we have just covered the two main visual parts of the small laptop, how about the casing? The exterior casing is made of solid-feeling aluminium instead of plastic, this makes it very rigid and excellent for travelling. The aluminium may add a few ounces to the overall weight, but the laptop stays comfortable with a weight under 3 pounds.
The Mini 2140 features a 1.6 Ghz processor with 1 GB Ram and a total of 160 GB of free storage available. For internet connection it uses Gigabit Ethernet, WLAN and supports Bluetooth 2.0 as well. It also has a built-in VGA camera which performes excellent and can be used in combination with Skype. Furthermore, the HP Mini 2140 comes with Windows XP and a 30 day trial version of MS Office 2007. It might come as a surprise, but running Windows XP on a laptop is far better then the newer Windows Vista. Doing so it makes sure you have plenty of performance left rather then using all resources for unneeded features.
If you are searching for competitors on the Mini 2140, i wish you the best of luck. It is a great, rigid laptop with lot's of features and the quality you get for such low price is truely amazing.
