I have had my identity stolen now i owe 27K! The bank thinks I spent the money, what should i do?
I recieved my final response from the bank saying I should have taken more care of my pin and card. The situation is this, someone has all my details including pin and card mothers maiden name etc, the credited the account with 30 grand and those payments were returned but they spent 27k around London. I have sent a letter to the ombudsman for Ann investigation and I doubt they will do anything. I got debt collectors going round to my mothers house but were ignoring everything from moorcroft because its nothing to do with them. Now I could be bankrupt!
Go to the Citizens advice Bureau and they weill help. How did the debt get this high? was it on a credit card? If so they should have quesried the spening with you long before it got this high. The bank has a duty of care here and it appears they have not done their bit
