What Not To Buy Your Mother On Mothers Day
Regardless of whether you actually like your mother, you are morally obliged to get her some form of gift on mothers day as way of saying "thank you for putting up with me" and giving her some time off for at least 24hrs a year. It comes around at the same time every year, but people are often completely unprepared and make some very poor gift choices indeed. In order to avoid this happening, here are 3 mother’s day gifts you should not buy under any circumstances
Iron. Your mother might have an iron in her hand more often than not, but this is not an excuse to buy her the latest model to "make her job easier". If you buy your mother an iron on mother’s day, you’ll likely get hid round the head with it. It's also not advisable to opt for anything else related to laundry, such as a new clothes line or stain removal product.
Cooking Accessories. Much like iron apparatus, any cooking related gifts should be bought with extreme caution. Giving your mum a new saucepan set or deep fat fryer will imply that she is expected to be a domestic goddess, and that won't go down well I assure you. Unless your mother is a professional chef, it’s better to stick to buying chocolates or better yet taking her out for a meal, rather than “helping” her to prepare one buy buying new kitchen accessories.
RC Helicopter. If you thought the previous two ideas were bad, they are not nearly as bad as buying a present that is actually for yourself. A common mistake for anniversaries, the “we can both use it gift” can be the downfall of any mother’s day as well. Top of the list is a remote control helicopter than very few women on the planet have any interest in. Other such presents include a bowling ball, games console and a new 50inch LED TV that is blatantly for your enjoyment only.
